DORIAN ORGANS Company Profile

1955 - F. Richard Burt, student in church music ministries, took his first pipe organ crawl through the new Aeolian-Skinner in the First Baptist Church of Abilene.

1959 - Called to the Trinity Baptist Church of Dallas, wrote an organ prelude for the organist with a pedal solo line. It could not be played as conceived. Finding out why took several years of study and many more organ crawls. The prospects of ever having a church with a real pipe organ were remote. Started looking for a really fine electronic imitation.

1964 - Built his first analog organ for a church.

1965 - Heard the new Saville Series-II organs. Sold his first 42-rank,three-manual Saville organ. A new career was launched.

1969 - Organ drought. Continued to sell and service on a limited basis.

1988 - 1994 Redesigned a new analog organ based on Saville technology.

1995 - Analog is dead. Digital technology is everywhere.

1998 - Launched Dorian Organs in Garland, Texas. The first organs were from Britson Organworks.

1999 - Added Johannus Opus, Sweelinck, and Rembrandt organs and Dorian custom organs using the Musicom digital synthesis technology.  Installed first two-manual digital synthesis organ.
